In a word - Grace

  1. I've heard that when she was young, her family and friends never thought of her as glamorous or a beauty. Only later did it dawn on them.

  2. That's true. I think those who refer to her as an 'ugly duckling' are going too far but she was a sickly child and looked upon as sort of the plain, unremarkable one. After all her success her father remarked that of all his children he never thought it would be Grace who would support him in his old age (not that he needed it!).

  3. The world lost a great lady at far to young of an age. Albert is about the same age as when she died. There is a suggestion that Grace had a stroke before the accident. Is Albert watching his health so that he can be around to see his children grow up? With a history of stroke in the family, his weight could be a concern.

  4. I think she did have a stroke and Albert, although he's gotten more 'portly' in recent years (not an Olympian anymore) but he is still pretty active and certainly seems to be taking better care of himself than most of the rest of his family -he's the only one who doesn't smoke after all (not that I'm condemning the girls by any means, I'm a smoker myself but it's certainly healthier not to). In any event, not too long ago Albert was out playing football with his nephews and perhaps keeping up with Charlene will help his weight a little too.
